21 years of presence, care, and community — in the city that has always been ours too. Join us this June.
The Initiative for Equal Rights operates as Nigeria's foremost organisation for the rights, health, and dignity of sexual and gender minorities. Since 2005, we have provided legal aid, healthcare, research, and community — in a country where our community's existence is contested by law.
This June is not just Pride Month. It is our 21st year of asking — loudly, persistently, without apology — for the simple recognition that queer Nigerians have always been here.
"We have been asked, many times, to justify our existence. This June, we stop justifying and start demonstrating."
— Afolabi Aiyela, Executive Director, TIERs
